Thailand. (Netherlands - Dutch East Indies - First Trial Flight). 1928. Registered Air Mail envelope addressed to Galang, Sumatra bearing Netherlands Yvert 136, 3c yellow-green, Yvert 180, 22 1/2c bistre-olive and Air Mail 4, 40c red and Yvert 5, 75c green tied by Amsterdam Zud double ring '11th Sept 1928' with matching registration label with 'Per Luchtpost/Par Avion' label in orange and red 'Aangeteekend' label, endorsed' 'Per Luchtpost Nederland - Nederland Indies van 13/9/28' with Medan backstamp '23/9' and Galang arrival '24th Sept' on reverse.
The first K.L.M. trial flight from Amsterdam to Java left Amsterdam 13/9/1928. Due to the flooded condition at Don Muang Airport the plane continued to Singora without landing at Don Muang. The plane departed Amsterdam Thursday 13th reaching Rangoon on 21st September and owing to the floods at Don Muang landed at Singora Saturday 22nd and departed for the Dutch Indies '23/9' arriving Batavia '25th Sept.
Forty two post-cards were carried but very little REGISTERED mail is known.
