Milwaukee, Wis/Registered' double ring in violet 'Sept 4th 1896', addressed to Java, Netherlands East Indies, sent via Tacoma, Wash 'Sep 10' and San Francisco' on face with transit 'Sept 14', routed east via New York (registration label) and transit '19/9' with oval London/Registered in red '30th Sept' with Soerabaja and Batavia squared circles '1st Nov' and Pasoerdean arrival '2nd Nov' on reverse. Lovely item of U.S. postal stationery to the Netherlands Indies missent via San Francisco. Exhibition item.
