Envelope written to the 'Regiment of Royal Engineers, U.S. Expeditionary Force' and forwarded c/o 'International Red Cross, Geneve' bearing United States SG 434, 3c violet tied by New York roller 'Dec 1st 17', with boxed 'Vendu par L' Agence Internationale/ Des Prisonniers du Guerre' and hand-stamped 'Comite International de la Croix Rouge/ Geneve/ Agence Internationale Des Prisonniers de Guerre/ Service des Envelopes et Timbres de Guerre' with 'Passed by/ Base Censor/ A.E.F./ 5' in violet and small framed 'Examined By/ No 18' with 'Examined By Base Censor' label with Geneve receiver '27th March 1918' on reverse. Very nice item.
