Folded letter written from New York dated '7th April 1832' addressed to Schiedam, Holland endorsed 'Per steamer via Rotterdam', routed via London with unframed oval 'Post Paid Ship/ 5 May 1832/ London' in red on face and manuscript '8' (U.K. debt to Holland) with handstruck entry cachet 'Engeland/over BRIELLE' on reverfse in red (Van der Linden 1022) and Schiedam arrival 'May 7' and manuscript '50' Dutch cents due rating, chisel slits for disinfection and hand-struck 'GEZUIVERD' in red on face (PURIFIED).
The Dutch entry cachet 'Engeland over BRIELLE' is a a very underrated hand-stamp as it is rarely seen.
