Air Mail envelope written from 'Indian No 5/ Base Post Office, Rangoon' addressed to India bearing Burma SG 20, 6p blue and SG 22, 1a brown (3) tied on arrival by boxed 'Buy Defenses/ Savings Certificates/ Delivery/ 20 Mar 42/ Negaopatam' with triangular 'Passed by/ Censor/ A 21' on face. One of the last covers to have left Rangoon before the Occupation by Japanese Forces. (See notes).

Interesting item written by Miss Stilemen who founded the Mission Station at Bilumyo where this card was written from and paying the Air Mail rate to UK.

Air Mail envelope addressed to Switzerland bearing Burma SG 27, 3a6p blue and light blue (3) and SG 29, 8a green tied by Rangoon/ G.P.O. double ring with 'Passed Censor/ Rangoon/1' cachet and 'Opened by Censor' label, underpaid with 'T' hand-stamp and bearing Swiss postage due 20c red applied and tied by Glarus/Pakete receiver. Nice combination.

Burma. (Field Post Office In Burma). 1945. 'Blue Triangle' stamp-less Air Letter written from 'Pte Taylor of 42nd Indian Field Ambulance SEAC' dated '18th Feb 45' addressed to Exeter cancelled by 'F.P.O./ No 125' with circular 'Unit Censor/ X 108' on face. Field Post Office No 125 was between Bodalin and Alagappa pursuing the Japanese towards Rangoon. Very fine.

India. (Used In Burma). 1854. Stamp-less envelope addressed to Scotland written from Thayetmayo dated '22nd August 1854' with boxed 'India' and framed 'G.P.O.' on reverse, endorsed 'via Marseille' with Aberdeen arrival 'Oct 29' in green and rated '1/10' in m/s. A fine item with 8 page letter.

Air Mail Envelope endorsed 'Southampton- New York' addressed to Denver, Colorado bearing Burma SG 5, 2a vermilion, SG 20, 6p blue, SG 22, 1a brown, SG 28, 4a turquoise and SG 30, 1r purple and blue tied by Nama double ring '2 Apr 40' with 'Passed Censor/ Rangoon/4' on face with Denver arrival 'Apr 28'. Lovely item sent by Inter-Empire Air Mail to UK and on by surface mail. This the only Nama cover recorded by Proud.

Burma. 1942. Air Mail Burma postal stationery card 'half anna on 9 pies' green (written from Mandalay dated '2nd March 1942) upgraded with SG 27, 3 1/2a blue tied by Mandalay/ Sor' double ring '2nd Mar' addressed to India, routed via Lashio with triangular 'Passed Z Censor/ 2' in violet on face with Calcutta transit and framed 'Passed by Censor/ A 11' with Bangalore arrival '20 Mar.' Very rare Lashio 'Z' censor (believed to be less than ten known) on Air Mail postal stationery card. Exhibition item. Censored postal stationery is very rare.

Indian postal stationery envelope 'one anna' brown upgraded with India SG 197, 1a chocolate (pair) tied by 'R-26 Set 1/ Out/ 2nd Train' double ring '10th Oct 24' addressed to 'H.G. Fletcher, (Commissioner of Customs), Tengyueh, China endorsed 'via Bhamo' with transit '4th Oct 24' and Imperial Post Teng Yuen arrival '13th Oct 24. on reverse. Fine item of Overland Mail to China posted on the Naba to Katha railways. After reaching Katha the mail would have travelled on the Irrawaddy River to Bhamo.

Lovely item.

Air Mai envelope written from 'Tiddim, Chin Hills, Catholic Mission' addressed to the United States bearing Burma SG 22, 1a brown SG 28, 4a turquoise and SG 29, 8a myrtle green tied by Tiddim date stamp '29th Apr' , endorsed 'By Air Mail, Rangoon, Chungking-Hong Kong and by surface to the United States' with circular 'Not Opened by Censor/ Burma/ 10' in violet on face, routed via Victoria/Hong Kong '13 My' with boxed 'Not Opened/By/Censor' in violet. Nice routed via Chungking and rare Burma censor.

Envelope written from '90 Punjabis Royal Artillery Camp, May Myo' dated 'Jan 3rd 1905' addressed to England bearing 'Government of India' one anna purple fiscal 'not valid' with Maymyo dispatch '4 Ja 05' on reverse, circular 'T' and horseshoe 'Maymyo/Due/One anna' on face with Bath receiver and hand-struck '2d' arrival tax hand-stamp. Lovely item with four page letter describing the tranquil life in the British Hill Station.

India. (Burma). 1941. Air Mail envelope addressed to New York bearing SG 20, 6p blue SG 22, 1a brown, SG 24, 2a carmine, SG 28, 4a turquoise, SG 29, 8a myrtle green, SG 30, 1r purple and blue (3) tied by Rangoon/ Sorting with 'Opened by Censor' label tied by Passed by Censor/54 in violet.

Burma. (Japanese Occupation Of Andaman & Nicobar Islands). 1944. Censored soldier's Military post card written from the Canococar Islands addressed to Japan endorsed 'Takao Yamane, Ishikawa Party, Shinkai Unit, 129, c/o Saseba P.O. with circular "Shizuki" censor in carmine, Only 600 Japanese soldier's Garrisoned both the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and surviving mail is very rare. Only a few items known from Canococar Island.

India. (Burma). 1915. Stamp-less envelope addressed to England endorsed 'O.A.S.' (On Active Service) with 'Experimental P.O.R.' double ring on reverse with framed horse-shoe 'Experimental P.O.R./ Due/ As' on face and 'T' hand-stamp erased and London/Paid transit '5th Nov' in red. Scarce Experimental Post Due cachet. Very little is known about these scarce mark. Ex Proud maybe Unique.

Two 2 Annas' envelope cancelled by Rangoon date stamp with 'Opened by Examiner' censor tape tied by framed '1/ DGA/ 3/ Censorship' censor in violet with 'DG/ 98' hand-stamp applied in Rangoon. Scarce boxed censor from Rangoon rated '10' by Morenweiser' and type not recorded.

Official mail envelope addressed to Rangoon, Lower Burma written from Mahalaing bearing 'British Military Administration SG 40, 1 1/2a turquoise tied by Mahlaing roller '6th Oct' with 'Opened by Examiner' censor tape tied by boxed 'Crown/ Paaed/ DGC/ 1' censor hand-stamp with Rangoon receiver '15th Oct' and 'Burma/ Exptl. P.O. No 36' date stamp on reverse applied at Pazundaung (Rangoon). Scarce item of mail from Mahlaing in Meitila District.

India/Burma. (Great Britain). 1942. Envelope addressed to Shan States, Burma bearing Great Britain SG 486, 1d pale scarlet tied by Kensington date stamp with framed instructional 'Service Suspended/ Return To Sender'. Scarce interrupted mail to Burma.

Air Mail envelope addressed to England bearing Burma SG 2, 1/2a green and SG, 3a 1/2p grey-blue (4) tied by Kalewa double ring '24th Oct 39' After the declaration of war in September 1939 the Empire Air Mail scheme was suspended and air mail rates to the UK became 14 annes for 1/2 oz letters. Southend" c/o Halliday, Bullock & Co, Rangoon' bearing United States SG 62, 3c brown-rose (pair) tied by cork obliterator with adjacent Rochester/ Pa date stamp 'Dec 28' ,charged '21' in m/s in violet ink, endorsed 'French Mail' with New York/ Fr. Pkt/ Paid in red 'Dec 31' and French entry cachet 'Etats-Unis/ Serv. Am. Calais/3' on face with circular 'S.L./ Calcutta/ G.P.O./ Fe 19/ 1865' transit in red on reverse (Calcutta Ship Letter) and framed 'Rangoon/ Ship Letter/ No 64/ Paid' with m/s '1a' ship letter charge on reverse, endorsed 'answered at sea Sept 23rd'. Although a 24c US stamp has been removed only one example of this Rangoon Ship Letter is known together with the very rare Ship Letter/ Calcutta.
