Air Mail envelope addressed to 'Accra, Internment Camp, Gold Coast ' bearing Germany 20pf turquoise and 25pf blue tied by Berlin double ring '18th Nov 39', stamped 'Postverkehr Eingestellt' (Service Suspended) and 'Postsperre' (Postal Bolckade) with large cross hand-stamp to cancel address, all instructions to 'Return' have been deleted, the cover has then been forwarded with German censor and re-sealed with currency contole labels, routed on 'Air Littoria via Rome and Cairo with 'Opened by British Censor / 1703' label with framed 'Passed by censor / Gold Coast / 10' hand-stamp on face in carmine. The cover was forwarded as the addressed was an interned German national.

Superb item with rarely seen brown Spitfire label.

Gold Coast. (Damaged By Sea Water). 1943. Envelope addressed to England bearing SG 123, 2d slate (pair) tied by Elmina date stamp '23rd May 42' with boxed 'Crown/ Passed/ 00/3' censor in violet and framed instructional 'Damaged By Sea Water' on face. Nice item of crash mail, according to Nierinck mail is only known from this crash from Ceylon, China and Aden. Little information is known about the crash, the few items salvaged all the correspondence goes to Great Britain.

Atlantic" dated '25th May 1866' addressed to Egypt cancelled by Gibraltar date stamp 'May 27' , rated '10' in m/s with British Post Office Alexandria arrival 'June 9' on face. Lovely item with letter from a surgeon on the "S.S. Atlantic" referring to the death of the addressed young daughter.

Only five examples of the border transit mark known in red .

Scarce item of Trans-Atlantic mail carried on one of the four pre-Treaty voyages of the Trans-Atlantic mails the so called "Restored Rates" period.

Registered Air Mail envelope headed 'On Active Service' written from from 'Dr Major Scouten, Colombo' addressed to 'Madame Schouten, Holland' bearing Ceylon SG 386, 2c black and carmine, SG 387, 3c black and green, SG 387f, 5c orange and green, SG 39, 15c green and brown, SG 394, 50c purple and black and SG 395, 1r brown and violet tied by Kandy/ Registered double ring matching registration label and framed 'O.A.T.' in red on face, Major Dr. Schouten had been a Doctor at the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army, Camp Columbia, Wacol, Brisbane and served with the 'RAPWI' (Recovery of Allied Prisoner of War and Internees) in the Dutch Indies, Timor and Thailand, The NEI Government in Exile was quartered in Camp Columbia from 1944. Very fine item from Major Schouten on his way home from the East Indies and Australia.
