Scarce Field Post office 3 opened at Hyams Gardens, Avenue Haig, Shanghai 23rd April 1927. In January 1927 mobs supported by Cantonese and elements of the Nationalists Army attacked the British Consulate in Nanking and other interests in Shanghai prompting British and Indian Troops to send units to Shanghai and Tientsin.

Envelope addrssed to New York bearing Great Britain SG 419, 1d scarlet and SG 420, 1 1/2d brown tied by 'Field Post Office/1' double ring '25th Mar 27' routed via Hong Kong. Field Post Office One Opened at Tifeng Road, Shanghai on March 25th 1927. Ddue to a strike at the 'Foreign' rate of 2 1/2d, only a few correct rate covers exist. The privilege was withdrawn at midday on 26th March when the Chinese Post Office reopened.

"Tenedos" at Nova Scotia paying the 1d military concessionary rate.

India. (Prisoner Of War Mail). 1944. Envelope addressed to 'Major A. Gurney, Post Box No 331, Bombay' bearing India SG 250, 1a carmine (block of 6 Tete-Beche) tied by Prisoner of War camp/ Group Two' date stamp with 'Experimental P.O./ N-19' date stamp with circular 'United Censor/ V 84' on face signed by the Commander. Very fine and scarce P.O.W. item.

Mauritius. (Deal Ship Letter). 1850. Stamp-less envelope written from 'Bel Air' date '31st Aout 1850' addressed to France cancelled by 'Crown/ Mauritius/ GPO' on face 'Sept 3rd' rated '15' in m/s, routed via England with boxed 'Colonies & Art 13' in red and framed 'Deal/ Ship Letter' in blue (Robertson S.8), French entry cachet, charged Ship Letter '8' and La Fleche' arrival '30 Nov'. Superb example of the scarce Deal Ship Letter in blue.

Nice combination.

Envelope written from 'Evacuee Camp No 1, Kenya, Colony' addressed to Italy bearing Kenya SG 152, 10c on 3d blue (strip of three) with adjacent 'Refugee/ Camp No 1/ Date' on face routed via Nairobi with boxed 'Passed by Censor/ B. 7' cachet on face. Censor '7' not listed by John Little. Lovely item.

West Indies. (Jamaica). 1892. Envelope addressed to Epsom bearing Jamaica SG 12, 6d mauve and SG 22, 4d orange tied by 'A01' obliterator with adjacent Kingston date stamp sent on the "Para" with Epsom arrival. Attractive.

Seychelles. (Australia). 1917. Picture post card of 'Norton Summit Road, Near Adelaide' written from Hindmarsh Island dated '2nd Jan 17' addressed to Mahe, Seychelles bearing Australia SG 21, 1d carmine tied by Hindmarsh Island squared circle routed via Adelaide with hand-stamp 'Passed' (Military District No 4) applied in violet and Seychelles arrival 'Feb 18' on face. Seychelles did not use censor marks during WW1 and there are few examples of mail arrival into the Seychelles censored elsewhere.

Bay, Mahe, Seychelles' bearing South Africa SG 87, 1 1/2d blue-green tied by Escombe double ring '7th Feb 42' with bilingual 'Opened by Censor' tape and hand-stamp 'Passed By Censor/ Seychelle No I' in black on face with Victoria arrival 'Mr 4' on reverse. Only 5 'Seychelles No 1' censor hand-stamps are known struck in black.

Envelope addressed to Wales bearing SG 127, 24c green and SG 130, 48c rose tied by 'D' bar obliterator with Jaffna / Paid in red 'Mr 30 76' on face, endorsed 'via Southampton' with Galle transit and Newton-Mont arrival 'May 9' on reverse. Very beautiful cover paying the 72 cents double letter rate via Marseille on French paquebot. Exhibition quality.

Envelope addressed to Glasgow bearing SG 130, 48c rose (strip of five) tied by Colombo bar duplex date stamp 'Nov 11th' , endorsed 'via Brindisi' with Galle transit and Glasgow arrival 'Dec 6th' on reverse. Very scarce franking paying the five times forty eight cents rate via Brindisi. Exhibition quality.

Envelope written from Kobenhavn (stamp removed by censor) addressed to Dublin dated Kobenhavn '20th Oct 1943' routed via Hamburg with German censor tape and cachet with British 'Opened by Examiner/ 824' label and attached 'Postal Censorship P.C. 137/ The British Censorship is not responsible for the absence of stamps from the cover of this Postal Packet./ R.4020,000/20.8.41' and Gaelic pink censor tape applied in Dublin. Very scarce label only recorded by Morenweiser 14 Mar 44 - 22 Mar 44.
