Nice item of incoming mail to Drummer Morley in transit in Hong Kong, later mail from this correspondence was forwarded to the British Detachment in Siberia. Very fine.

Air Mail envelope addressed to the Batavia, Netherlands East Indies bearing Hong Kong SG 166, 15c black and red and SG 168, $1 blue and orange tied by Victoria/Hong Kong double ring '8th Apr' with Hong Kong with 'Opened by Censor/Hong Kong' censor label tied by boxed '17' in violet routed via Singapore with censor tape tied by 'Passed by/Censor 41A' hand-stamp with circular 'B' and '26' on face with 'Diboeka Oleh Censuur/Door Censuur Geopend' Dutch Indies tape and circular 'Dev/18' in red with adjacent 'Ec. C' hand-stamp on face. Lovely item of triple censored mail from Hong Kong.

Hong Kong. (Treaty Ports). 1907. Registered envelope addressed to Shameen, Canton bearing SG 62, 1c purple and brown (4) and SG 66, 8c purple and grey tied by Registered/G.P.O. Hong Kong double ring with framed 'R/Hong Kong/No' on reverse with Canton/A (Webb Type Div) arrival on reverse used later than recorded by Webb. From the new archive we have found I believe the 'A' index code (rare on stamps) was used at the Shameen Post Office.

Hong Kong. (Treaty Ports). 1907. Pictorial balsa wood envelope addressed to England bearing Hong Kong SG 93, 4c carmine tied by Shanghai/B.P.O. date stamp (Webb Type J) with Teignmouth arrival on reverse. Attractive item.

Not much mail made from balsa paper/ wood has survived owing to the delicate nature of the paper.

Superb item of underpaid mail from Canton during the King Edward V11 reign.

Rare item of mail into Stanley Internment Camp but never received.

Pekin' to Singapore with 'Hong Kong/ Marine Sorter/ Singapore to Hong Kong' on reverse '7th Jan 72' . Lovely item of incoming mail to Hong Kong from Gibraltar.

China. (Prisoner Of War Mail). 1945. Stamp-less envelope written by an internee 'Mr C.B. Longman, Civil Assembly Centre, Weihsien, Shantung, China' addressed to Boscombe, England cancelled by Framed 'Internee Mail Free/ of Postage/ Shanghai P.O.' in violet on face with adjacent Shanghai date stamp. In China the relieving American Forces introduced a hand-stamp to indicate that the mail enclosed was internee mail and therefore passed free of postage. All mail to Europe was routed via India. Very fine.

Air Mail envelope addressed to Batavia, Java, Netherlands East Indies bearing Canada SG 363, 10c carmine and SG 365, 20c red-brown (4) tied by Ottawa date stamp 'June 16 40' endorsed 'Via Trans-Pacific Clipper' with Canada 'Examined by Censor/C 164' label routed via Hong Kong with Victoria transit '27 June' and triangular 'Passed Censor/9/ Hong Kong' on face in blue with Netherlands East Indies 'Door Censuur Geopend' censor tape and 'Censuur/Gepasseerd/2' hand-stamp in red on face. Superb item from Canada to Java via Pacific Clipper.

The card has been dispatched in the Chinese Post Office Shanghai '9th Apr' and took four days transit the British Post Office 'April 13' . A very interesting item. Ex Goldsmith.
