Jansen, Soldier Infantry Sumatra, Dutch POW, THAI CAMP, c/o Huryozyohokyoko, Tokyo, Japan' with boxed 'Ken'etsuzumi' censor chop in red and oval "Motojima" censor seal in carmine, endorsed 'No 3 Gr.' in pencil indicating Jansen was with No 3 Group in Nike, Burma.

Thailand. (Civilian Internees Mail in Thailand). 1945. Envelope written from 'Mr & Mrs W. Marshall' addressed to 'Mrs Landgren, c/o The Electric Corporation, Bangkok' bearing Thailand SG 312, 10s carmine tied by Bangkok date stamp '28th Feb 45' with 'Internment Camp/ Bangkok, Thailand/ Censored' and signed with circular '1' censor cachet in violet on face.
The internees were held in two camps. The first at Ta Phra Chan, the Siamese University controlled by the Thai authority, held 180 men and 25 women. The other camp across town was controlled by the Japanese and little is known of this camp.

Netherlands East Indies. (Great Britain). 1940. Envelope addressed to Sumatra, Java bearing Great Britain SG 463, 1d scarlet tied by WC' roller with 'Crown/ Passed by Censor/ T. 77' hand-stamp in blue, with 'Door Censuur Geopend' label tied by circular 'Ned. Indisch Deviezen Instituut/ Deviezen Censuur/ Medan/ 1' in red on face and reverse. Nice item paying the Printed Matter rate to the Indies.

Netherlands East Indies. (Australia). 1940. Air Mail envelope addressed to Australia bearing Netherlands Indies SG 401, 5c ultramarine, SG 403, 10c scarlet and SG 405, 20c purple tied by Batavia date stamp '30th Nov 41', hand-stamped 'Per KNILM' in violet with Batavia Censuur' censor label tied by circular 'Dev/ 5' hand-stamp in carmine on face and reverse.

Netherlands East Indies. (Printed Matter). 1941. Envelope headed 'Drukwerk/ Printed Matter', addressed to New York bearing Netherlands Indies SG 335, 1c grey and SG 336, 2c violet tied by Bandung date stamp with 'Gecensureerd/ 14' censor hand-stamp on face in violet. Nice item paying the unopened Printed Matter rate to New York.

Netherlands East Indies. (Trans-Pacific Mail). 1941. Air Mail envelope addressed to London bearing Netherlands Indies SG 347, 20c purple and SG 359, 2g50 purple tied by Maarkasser date stamp '5th March 41', endorsed 'K.L.M./ To Manilla by P.A.A./ via U.S.A. and onward/ Transmission' with 'Geopend Door Censuur' label tied by circular 'Ned. Indisch Deviezen Instituut/ Deviezen/ Censuur/ 1' in carmine on face and reverse and 'Opened by Examiner 1987' censor label applied on arrival. Very fine item of mail routed over 'two Oceans'.

Money order card headed 'Binnenlandsche Postwissel (Domestic Money Order Card) dated '24/2/42' bearing Netherlands Indies SG 436, 40c green tied by 'Veldpost/ Sorteerkantor/ A' with framed ' 'Veldpost/ Distbutiekt.3' and 'Veldpost' label in orange and 'Censuur/ Gepasseerd/ A' hand-stamp in carmine addressed to Parakan with Djokjakarta transit and arrival on reverse and hand-stamped '7th Mar 42.' on face.

Air Mail envelope headed 'Nederlandsch-Indische Roode Kruis/ Batavia' and Service Des Prisonniers de Guerre/ France de Port' addressed to 'Au Bureau International de la Croix Rouge, Geneve, Switzerland' bearing Netherlands Indies SG 347, 20c violet tied by Medan date stamp with adjacent 'Cdt. Intren-Kamp/ Koetajane' date stamp '18th Dec 40' on face with 'Gecensureerd/ 2' censor hand-stamp in carmine and circular 'Het Nederlandsch Indische Roode Kruis' on reverse. Very attractive yellow Red Cross letter sent from Koetatjane Camp paying the additional 20 cents franking by airmail to Geneve.

Air Mail envelope addressed to Amsterdam bearing Netherlands Indies SG 403, 10c orange-red (pair) tied by Palembang date stamp '25th Feb 40', routed via Singapore with 'Passed by Censor' label tied by framed 'Passed By/ 58/ Censor' in violet and circular '8' hand-stamp censor on face. Lovely looking item.

Envelope addressed to the United States bearing SG 90, 1s green tied by Edinburgh/ 159 duplex 'Ja 20', route via Liverpool with New York Br Pkt./ Paid/ 24' on face and Virginia arrival 'Feb 13', with hand-struck 'Advertised' and returned with Richmond/ Va dispatch 'Mar 31' on reverse and hand-struck instructional in red on face 'Sent Back To England/ Without Reason/ For Non-Delivery'. (Robertson Fig C, 2). Attractive item of Trans-Atlantic Mail.

Beautiful item of Charged mail to France with very scarce double circle Registered. Lovely item.

Channel Islands. (Jersey). 1892. Great Britain postal stationery envelope 'two pence halfpenny' grey cancelled by Jersey squared circle addressed to Cherbourg with Granville/ Manche French entry cachet. Nice item.

Greece. (Italian Occupation of the Ionian Islands). 1941. Air Mail Italian postal stationery card 30l brown upgraded with Air Post 50l brown cancelled by Pistoria date stamp addressed to Corfu with 'Verificato/ Per Censura' hand-stamp, circular '160' 1' censor in violet and Corfu receiver. Lovely item. Very fine.

Registered envelope addressed to Marseille bearing Italian Occupation of Calimno Yvert 8, 50c violet tied by 'poste Italiane/ Kalymno (Egeo)' double ring ring with matching registration label and framed 'Verificato Per Censura/ Censore No 1' in violet, routed via Rodi and Bologna with Marseille arrival on reverse. Nice item of Registered mail from this small island during the Occupation.

Lovely item with British Censor label on Syros implemented in December 1916 under the control of 'Captain C. Mackenzie, R,M,' Who was British Intelligence in the Aegean with three censor clerks drafted in from Egypt.
