Registered Air Mail Indian postal stationery envelope 'one and a half annas' blue upgraded with SG 271b, 3a violet (12) tied by 'Field Post Office No 12' date stamp '19th Aug 43' with provisional registered label addressed to Scotland with framed 'From H.M. Ship/ Passed by Censor'. Field Post Office 12 was held in reserve in Egypt and used by the Navy. Superb item.

Air Mail envelope addressed to 'Central Internment Camp, Wing 6, Prem Nagar, Dehra Dum, Brit India bearing Germany 25pf blue tied by Frieburg double ring '11th Nov 44' with German censor tape tied by circular German censor cachet, endorsed 'By Airmail from Bagdad' routed via Egypt with 'Censorship/M' Egypt censor on face and framed 'Crown/ Passed/ DHC/3' censor applied on arrival. Superb ingoing item from Germany to Dehra Dun Internment Camp.

Stamp-less envelope addressed to England headed 'On Active Service' cancelled by 'F.P.O. 151' date stamp '26th Sept 21' with framed 'Field Service/Postage Free' on face. Nice item from the Kyber Pass North West Frontier Stationary Office. Date later than noted by Proud.

Lovely item of mail from the Indian Field Post Office in Greece during the Greek Civil War.

Its a real pleasure to add a magnificent selection of French Colonies from Africa, Asia, The Caribbean and Oceania. Very fine pre-stamp, British Post Office, Charged Mail, Advice of Receipt, Printed Matter and postage due mail. A lovely selection of censor mail, some with five or six censor cachets and labels, routed Trans-Africa, two Ocean or over the Atlantic with some unusual destinations.

John Marc also had a fine selection of the Chinese Labour Force which are not often seen, he built this selection over thirty years. One of the darker aspects of World War One was the plight of 12,000 Chinese workers who were recruited by the British Army from the North of China in 1916 to serve on the battle front in France as labourers, trench diggers, munitions carriers, mine disarmers and corpse bearers under often inhumane conditions. A large number were also struck down by the devastating Spanish flue of 1918.
