The Dutch East Indies declared independence from the Netherlands at 10am, 17th August 1945. There followed four years of armed resistance and conflict until the Dutch recognized Independence on the 27th Dec 1949.

Very scarce item of censorship from Koetaradja with variety wide "U" in censuur.

Only one other item known in the 'Museum voor Communication', collection "B. Hiegentlich".
