Germany. (Repatriation Mail). 1947. German postal stationery card 12pf grey upgraded with 'American Zone' 8pf red and 25pf orange tied by Ludwigsburg double ring '8.4.47', written by 'Poldi Antosch, Repatriation Center (Nuengammer), 26th Infantry, Ludwigsburg, U.S.A. Zone' addressed to 'Josef Antosch, Wein Osterreich' with circular 'Repatriation Center/ Ludwigsburg/ Official' hand-stamped 'Censored' with 'US Censor' rubber hand-stamp in violet and 'Osterreichische Zensurstelle/ 671' Austrian Zone censor in violet.

Josef Antosch (German) had been repatriated from Dehra Dun, British India P.O.W. Camp on the "S.S. "Marine Jumper" and arrived at Neuengamme on the 8th Dec 1946. His wife Poldi Antosch (Austrian) and resident of the Netherlands East Indies left Japan on the "Jumper" and writes after she arrives at the camp.

In the post war months Neuengammer Concentration Camp was used as a Soviet displaced persons camp and later a British and American Repatriation center.

Separated by the war Poldi and her children had not seen her husband in six years.

India. (Prisoner of War Mail). 1943. Stamp-less envelope headed 'Service of Prisoners of War' written by 'Josef Antosch, No 5514, C. Interment Camp, Premnagar, Wing 6, P.O. Dehra Dun, British India' addressed to his family in Germany hand-stamped 'Prisoner of War Post' with framed 'Crown/ Passed/ DHN/ 2' censor and hand-stamped 'DHN/ 7' in blue on face. Very fine.

Josef Antosch (German) had been taken P.O.W. by the Allies in the Dutch East Indies and held at Alasvallei Internment Camp before being moved to various camps in British India, later he was repatriated from Dehra Dun, British India P.O.W. Camp on the 'S.S. "Marine Jumper" to a repatriation camp in the British and America Zone in Germany.

His wife Poldi Antosch had been interned at the Salatiga Protection Camp (Dutch Indies) for women and children before being moved via North China to Japan.

Portuguese Colonies, (Azores - Great Britain). 1944. Registered Great Britain 'KGV1' postal stationery envelope 'one shilling' brown canceled by 'R.A.F.' Post Office/ 001' date stamp '19th Sept 44' with 'R/ FPO' registration label and hand-stamp 'Eagle/ R.A.F. Censor/ 288' on face in carmine addressed to the 'Air Ministry, London' with 'P.C. 90/ Opened By Examiner 5783' censor label. Lovely item.

Mauritius. (Thailand - Postage Due). 1951. Envelope addressed to 'The Bank of India, Bangkok' bearing Mauritius SG 280, 5c blue and SG 281, 10c scarlet tied by Port Louis/ Mauritius date stamp '12th Mr 51', underpaid with bold 'T' hand-stamp in violet with manuscript '13. g (gold cms) and framed triangular 'T' applied in Bangkok with receiver on reverse.

The Mauritius temporary Tax hand-stamp only in use (6.3.51) - (20.3.51) a total of 14 days.

Ibbotson records the hand-stamp as being unique but three are known to Siam on cover from Mauritius.

Thailand. (Malaya). 1928. Printed envelope headed 'Royal State Railways/ Hua Hin Hotel' with crest and 'Hua Hin Hotel/ R.S. Rly' on reverse, addressed to Dorset bearing Siam SG 213, 3s brown (block of 5) tied by Penang double ring '20th Nov 28' with adjacent framed 'Train Letter'. Very attractive item.
Mail carried south on the train from Hua Hin in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province to Penang for the steamer to UK.

Laos (French Occupation of Laos). 1898. Stamp-less envelope endorsed 'Mission de Laos' cancelled by Bassac/ Laos double ring '4th Feb 98', routed south down the River Mekong to Saigon '13th Feb' with 'Modane a Paris' ambulant '14th Mars', with triangular 'T' hand-stamp and bearing French postage due Yvert 29, 10c brown (2) and Yvert 31, 20c orange-red applied and tied by Realmont receiver '16th Mars' on face.

Very early mail from the French Occupation of Laos sent via Civil Mail so taxed on arrival.

Cambodia. (Red Cross). 1960. Air Mail envelope headed by bilingual 'Croix Rouge/ Cambodgienne' addressed to 'The Internationale de la Croix Rouge, Geneve' bearing Cambodia SG 57, 6c lake (pair) tied by Phnompenh-Cambodge date stamp '31st Aug 1960' with Red Cross cachet in red on face. Nice item.

Laos. (French Indo-China). 1897. French Indo-China postal stationery card 10c black cancelled by Khong/ Laos date stamp '28th Oct' addressed to France with Saigon transit on reverse. Scarce item from this lower Laos village.

Very rare item of a French Indo-China letter card used between tow small Cambodian villages opened in Laos 1892/93 and subsequently returned to Laos in 1895/96.

Very fine item from Weihsien Camp with unusual censor seal of "Eihara".

Vary attractive item from the Japanese Occupation of North China.

Malaya. (Netherlands East Indies - Singapore). 1918. Registered envelope written from the Borneo Company addressed to the Netherlands bearing Netherlands Indies SG 222, 30c slate tied by Bandjermasin date stamp with matching registration label, hand-stamped 'Engelsche Mail/ via Singapore' on face in violet with 'Opened by Censor/ Straits Settlements' censor label and 'Opened by Censor/ 4969' label applied in transit with Enschede arrival on reverse. Nice item.

Malaya. (Selangor). 1941. Air Mail envelope addressed to England bearing Selangor SG 85, $5 scarlet and green tied by Kuala Lumpur double ring '7th July'. endorsed 'Per American Clipper' , routed via Singapore with censor tape tied by 'Passed By/ Censor 256/ A' on face and reverse, sent Trans-Pacific clipper "Honolulu" via San Francisco and over the Atlantic. Very fine $2 single franking 'Two Ocean' route.

The two dollar air thoughout rate began on 27.5.41.

India. (French Settlements in India). 1899. British India picture post card of 'Hindoo Temple and small girl' dated 'March 20', addressed to Germany bearing French India Yvert 4,, 5c green tied by Pondichery/Inde double ring '2nd Avril' with framed triangular 'T' and charged '10' in m/s blue crayon with Mulhausen arrival. Very interesting item sent at the 'Imprime' rate but charged as the message is more than 5 words and not endorsed 'Imprime'.

Lovely item (scarce pre 1900 card), illustrated in the Collectors Club journal (volume 95, no 6) , French India, the Allegorical Group Type by Ed Grabowski.
