Mourning envelope written on crested envelope from the British Consulate, Dakar addressed to the 'United States Consulate, Goree' bearing Senegal Yvert 21, 5c yellow-green (pair) tied by Dakar/ Senegal double ring '30th Sept 02' with arrival in Goree on reverse. Superb item paying the double internal rate.

Peter Strickland was a Ship-Master and Consul for the United States in West Africa from 1883 till 1905. He sailed the Atlantic between Senegal and Dorchester, Mass. over one hundred times.
A remarkable man a book on his life in Africa was published.

Superb franking paying the triple rate plus the 'Advice of Receipt' postage to Australia.

(China Civil Assembly Center) addressed to "Ash Camp" and forwarded to Eastern Area Camp with m/s 'Not Ash Camp' with framed 'Internee Mail Free/ of Postage/ Shanghai P.O.' in violet on face and Shanghai arrival '4th Oct 41'.

According to David Tett in "Hong Kong & China, Captives in Cathay" no mail has been noted from to or from Eastern Camp.

Envelope addressed to 'Poste Restante, Teheran' bearing Indo-China SG 169, 2c green and SG 356, 23c blue tied by Hanoi/ Tonkin date stamp '14th Jan 40', with 'Control Postal/ Militaire' censor label tied by oval 'Ouvert/ Par/ L' Autorite Militaire' on face and reverse and hand-struck instructional 'Acheminement Suspendu/ Par L' Autrite Militaire' in blue on face. Lovely item of Service Suspended mail to Persia from French Indo-China.

Very fine registered franking to France.
The four pence vermilion SG 152 is a very scare stamp on cover SG 1200 GBP on cover.

Envelope addressed to Sydney, Australia bearing SG 248, 1/2a brown (5) and SG 250, 1a carmine tied by Bombay double ring '30th Nov 39' with boxed 'Posted in State Box', routed via Madras with '(Arms)/ Opened by Censor' tape with triangular 'Passed Censor/ Madura/ 4' in violet on face and Sydney arrival, forwarded to Melbourne.
Very nice routing internally in India via Madras and Madura. The Madras censor label rated 10 points by Morenweiser, dated known Sept 40 - Feb 41.

Envelope written from 'Societe Anonyme "Nour" Avenue Lulezar, Teheran' addressed to Paris bearing 2r grey-green and 75d scarlet tied by Teheran double ring, endorsed 'Par Voir Terrestre' with bilingual 'Motor Mail' label in red on face. The cover has been routed overland via from Iran via Bagdad and Egypt.
Scarce label applied on mail from Persia and Iraq to Egypt and vice-versa.
