The "U.S.S. Rainbow was built by James Laing, Sunderland in 1890 and from 1902 served the Asiatic Fleet as part of the Philippine Squadron based in Cavite.

The 'U.S.S. "Mc.Cormack" was assigned in 1925 to the Asiatic Fleet operating from Cavite, she served in support on the Yangtze River and South China patrols.

Persian Gulf. (Guadur - Pakistan). 1949. Registered Air Mail envelope from the British Consul Gwadur (crested envelope) addressed to 'H.B.M.'s Consul, Muscat, Persian Gulf' bearing Pakistan SG 33, 4a reddish brown and SG 34, 6a blue tied by Guadur double ring '26th April' with matching registration label and Karachi/ Reg transit '28th Apr' on reverse. Very fine.

Persian Gulf. (Bahrain). 1959. Envelope addressed to Awalia bearing Bahrain SG L6, 9p indigo tied by bilingual Bahrain double ring. Nice usage of local stamp used internally.

China. (French Territory in Kouang - Tcheou - Wan). 1909. Registered envelope addressed to Tien-Tsin, China bearing Kwangchow SG 13, 75c brown/ orange tied by Kouang-Tcheou-Wan-Chine double ring '12th Mai' with hand-struck 'R', routed via Canton '19th Mai' and Shanghai '25/5' with French Post Office Tien-Tsin arrival '28th Mai' on reversed. Very rare item of registered mail paying the double registration rate to China.

Very little registered mail was sent from the territory as indicated by the m/s '64' adjacent to the 'R' hand-stamp, this tells us by May 1909 only 64 items of registered mail had been sent through the Kouang-Tcheou-Wan Post Office.

An exceptional mourning cover paying the ten cents interior rate. The 'Type Sage' two cents imperf is not recorded on cover from New Caledonia. Exhibition item.

Thailand. (Horseshow Route). 1941. Air Mail envelope addressed to England bearing SG 244, 1t green and lilac tied by bilingual Bangkok G.P.O. date stamp '25th Mars 41', endorsed 'B.O.A.C. via Durban' with circular '4' censor in violet on face. A lovely one tical single franking, routed on the famous war time horseshow route via the Cape of Good Hope.
B.O.A.C. was formed on the 24th November 1939 by the amalgamation of Imperial Airways and British Airways Ltd.

Thailand. (United States). 1953. Envelope addressed to California bearing United States 'Prexie' SG 799, 1/2c orange (block of four) and SG 800, 1c apple green tied by hand-stamp "S./S. Robin Mowbray" with adjacent Bangkok G.P.O. and endorsed 'Mailed on Board Ship.' Attractive and colourful cover.

Thailand. (India used in Aden - Siam used in Kedah). 1903. Book Post front addressed to Singora, Siam bearing India SG 123, 1a carmine tied by Aden date stamp '2nd Mar 03' with Bangkok transit and routed via the steamer "Coromandel" with 'Penang To Singapore' marine sorter dated 'April 4', Penang transit '7th April' and Siam used in Malaya Kedah '7.4.03.' and forwarded to Singora with arrival date stamp '17th April' on face.
