Nice item with eight different censor cachets or labels.

(Francaise Militaire) addressed to Kribi cancelled by Douala date stamp '28th Mar 43' with circular 'Control Postal/ Commission A/ Territiore du Camerouns' and censor tape tied by framed 'F.M.', on face with Kribi arrival '31st Mars' on reverse. Ex Maddocks and illustrated in his book. Maddocks reasons the boxed 'FM' is an abbreviation of 'Fusiliers Marins.'

Registered Air Mail envelope headed 'Banque de L' Afrique Occidentale/ siege de Douala' addressed to London bearing Great Britain SG 485, 1/2d pale green and SG 489, 2 1/2d pale blue (2) tied by Registered / St. James rubber with matching registered label and circular 'Le Directeur du Cabinet Civil/ Camerouns Francaise/ Libre' on face and endorsed 'Vu pour Control/ Douala le 19 Decembre 1942/ Le Directaur du Cabinet Civil.' Scarce item from the Camerouns to 'de Gaulle's headquarters at Carlton Gardens, London. Sent the double Atlantic route. Ex Maddocks.
